How to Find Bountiful Residents
A practical Bountiful resident search begins with the strongest fact in hand. An address points to the Davis County Property Search map. A full name can be tested in the Utah voter lookup, court index, state license search, or county jail roster. An old address calls for city directories, deeds, census material, cemetery entries, and newspaper work. These records answer different questions. A parcel card reflects property data, not every person in a home. A voter match shows a registered voter, not a complete household. Historical directories describe an edition year, not present-day residence.
Davis County is the main local records hub, but many counters sit in Farmington because Farmington is the county seat. Bountiful City handles city-held records and its own GRAMA requests. Utah agencies hold voter, court, vital, professional-license, custody, and business records. Use the source that keeps the record, and write down the date, search terms, parcel number, case number, or collection identifier as you go.
- Search Davis County Property Search by owner name, property address, parcel or serial number. If starting with an address, choose the dropdown match and open Parcel Details.
- Use the Tax Information link to retain the parcel ID and legal description, then separate the situs address from the owner's mailing address.
- Run Utah Voter Search with first name, last name, date of birth, street, city, and ZIP when those facts are known.
- Use the Recorder's Property Search or REDI-Web for deeds, mortgages, liens, book/page, entry number, and grantor or grantee links.
- For a past resident, compare the library, Marriott, Archives, FamilySearch, cemetery, obituary, and census trails, then request a missing public record from its custodian.
That sequence moves from a broad place clue to a dated record. It also avoids treating a single result as proof. A mailing address can be off-site. A court entry may show an address only when filed. A directory may mark an occupant, but an old volume can skip a year or use a different street spelling. The best match is one that agrees across two or more independent sources.
Bountiful Resident Records Offices
The Bountiful resident records trail crosses a city counter and several Davis County offices. The Recorder handles deeds, mortgages, liens, plats, legal descriptions, and ownership history. The Assessor supplies parcel and valuation context through the Property Search map. The Clerk handles elections, county records, marriage material, and GRAMA routing. Questions about taxes belong with the Treasurer. For city permits, complaints, correspondence, or other municipal files, start with Bountiful's recorder and describe the address, parcel, date range, and department.
Farmington is the county-seat location for the Recorder and Clerk counters. The Recorder is at 61 S Main, Suite 106, Farmington, with public terminals and a Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. The Recorder phone is 801-451-3225. Davis County GRAMA can be reached through GRAMA@DavisCountyUtah.gov or 801-451-3277. Bountiful City Hall is at 795 S Main Street, Bountiful, and its general phone is 801-298-6140.
Find a Bountiful Parcel in the County Map
The Davis County Property Search GIS is the most useful place-first tool for Bountiful. Zoom until parcel lines show. Choose Address or Parcel ID, type the value, and select the matching dropdown result. Click the marked parcel, open Parcel Details, and follow Tax Information when the parcel ID or legal description is needed. The map can help browse a street segment, but the research does not document a street export or bulk resident list.
The county warns that the map is informational, may be about 24 hours old, and is not legal evidence. Route valuation questions to the Assessor. Route ownership, address, tax-unit, and legal-description questions to the Recorder. Route tax-bill questions to the Treasurer. That division prevents a map result from being read as a deed or as proof that an owner lives at the mapped site.
| Search field | What to enter or expect |
|---|---|
| Address | Enter the property address, add the city when useful, then select the dropdown match. |
| Parcel ID | Use the county parcel identifier, such as the documented 01-473-0322 format, without assuming every parcel follows it. |
| Map click | Zoom to visible parcel lines and click the parcel for the detail panel. |
| Tax Information | Follow the result link for parcel ID, legal description, and tax-related detail. |
The map is a strong first stop because the parcel ID and legal description survive address changes better than a street string. Keep both values in research notes before moving to a deed or older map.

The county property capture shows the parcel-first route. Use the map for orientation, then verify ownership and legal questions with the responsible office.
Read Bountiful Names Through the Deed Index
The Davis County REDI-Web service is a subscription route to recorded documents, images, and abstracts. The help material lists Party Name, Entry Number, Book/Page, Development, and Location searches. The Recorder also documents owner name, property address, parcel or serial number, and document entry number routes. That makes the index useful for following a person tied to land, but it is property-centered rather than a countywide current people roll.
REDI-Web help places common document tools around 1983. The Recorder says real-property records reach back to 1850, historical land records to 1870, and computerization or microfilm to 1981. That difference matters. A failed modern search does not show that an older deed is absent. Use the public counter terminal, office copy request, FamilySearch catalog, or Archives series when the online boundary is too new.
A documented Davis record can show an entry number, recorded and execution dates, book and page, deed type, consideration, recording party, fee, return-to party, grantor, grantee, land serial number, vesting, subdivision, lot or unit, and an image or receipt context. Record those keys. A shared surname is a weak match by itself.
Online access is not the same as a certified copy. The county compares digital copies at $1 each with in-person copies at $2 per page, and says office requests can take about 5 to 10 business days. The current Recorder page lists a $25 monthly REDI-Web subscription, with possible extra digital-copy charges. Fees and access terms should be checked at the official office before payment.

The deed-index capture shows why a Bountiful record note should retain the portal route and the document keys, not just a name.
What Current Bountiful Resident Rolls Show
No single public list contains every Bountiful household. Each current source has a narrow purpose. Property data points to owners and parcels. The voter system confirms eligible registered voters. Courts, custody rosters, professional licenses, and business records answer still narrower questions. None should be stretched into a complete list of people living in the city. Treat the result as a lead and confirm it with the office that keeps the record.
| Record source | Useful match | Custodian | Access note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Property Search | Owner context, parcel, situs and mailing address when available | Assessor / GIS | Public map |
| Utah Voter Search | Registered voter name, address, year of birth, party and vote history fields subject to protections | Utah voter system | Individual form |
| Recorder index | Parties to deeds, mortgages, liens and plats | Davis Recorder | Counter or REDI-Web |
| Davis jail roster | Current bookings within roster scope | Davis Sheriff | Public current roster |
| DOPL license search | Named Utah licensees | Utah DOPL | Free online search |
The Utah Voter Search form displays First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, Street Address, City, and Zip. Public voter fields can include name, physical or mailing address, year of birth, party affiliation, and vote history. Full date of birth, Social Security number, ID number, email, and phone are withheld, and protected-voter rules can remove an otherwise expected result. A current voter record is not a household census.

The Assessor office capture reinforces the county division of duties. Use it for property and value questions, and take ownership questions to the Recorder.
Confirm a Bountiful Court Connection
Bountiful is served in Davis County's Second District. Utah Courts XChange offers jurisdiction, search type, case number, last name or company, first name, case type, scope, birth date, citation number, citation location, and date range controls. A first-name wildcard is documented. Search by name and a second anchor, then inspect county, court location, case type, case number, filing date, party code, and case history.
Expanded results may include charges, plea and disposition dates, judge, attorneys, proceedings, and documents. An address can appear when filed, but it is not guaranteed and is not a universal current address. XChange excludes sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, and several private family-case categories. A public summary is a dated court signal, not a full biography.
Guest access starts with a $10 initial credit. Searches are $0.35 and document images are $1. A monthly account has a $25 setup fee and $40 monthly charge for 500 searches, then $0.35 each. Free XChange computers are available at most district courthouses and some justice courts, and the Utah State Law Library offers access with a 30-minute printing limit when others wait.

The XChange search capture shows the controls that narrow a Bountiful resident lookup. Save the case number and filing date before seeking a clerk copy.
Use Bountiful Vital Records by Eligibility
Utah's Office of Vital Records and Statistics maintains birth, stillbirth, death, marriage, and divorce records. The office accepts online, mail, and local-health-department orders. Mail requests can take at least six weeks. Before a record opens, the subject, immediate family member, guardian, or legal representative may need proof of relationship or legitimate interest, a valid government ID, and payment. Fees are nonrefundable, and incomplete requests can be held for 90 days.
Utah Code §26B-8-125 sets the key opening periods: birth records generally become public after 100 years, death records after 50 years, and other vital records after 75 years. OVRS coverage is 1905 to the present for births, stillbirths, and deaths, and mainly 1978 to 2010 for marriage and divorce, with limited marriage coverage after 2011. Older marriage material belongs with the Davis County Clerk, Archives, or FamilySearch. A divorce abstract is not the complete court file.
The current first-certificate fees listed in the research are $22 for birth, $18 for stillbirth, $30 for death, and $18 for a marriage or divorce abstract. Check the current OVRS fee schedule before ordering. The marriage and divorce form asks for spouse names, dates and places, relationship, contact details, certificate count, payment, signature, and ID details.
Look for an Older Bountiful Resident
The historical trail is spread across Davis County Library, the Utah Historical Society, the Marriott Digital Library, Utah State Archives, and FamilySearch. The Utah City Directories collection includes Bountiful and Davis County items, but the landing page does not list a verified continuous year run. Inspect each scan's title page, city, publisher, and edition year. Do not assume a named Polk or telephone sequence when the official collection has not confirmed it.
Davis County Library's permanent Bountiful branch is at 725 S Main, but the current location page directs visitors to a temporary branch at 85 N Main during renovation. The temporary branch offers reference help, interlibrary loan, newspapers, copying, scanning, internet, and Wi-Fi. Headquarters at 133 S Main in Farmington has the documented microfilm reader. Ask staff for exact city-directory, reverse-directory, obituary, newspaper, and yearbook holdings before promising a year.

The library capture illustrates the local-history fallback. Reference staff can tell whether a needed item is a scan, index, microfilm reel, or physical-only collection.
FamilySearch's Davis County Records collection covers 1869 to 1953 and includes land, births, deaths, naturalization, and cemetery images. Its catalog lists deed books, probate, wills, marriage, and Lakeview Cemetery records. Archives guides add Davis birth indexes, divorce registers, and county series. Keep the collection title, series number, reel, box, folder, volume year, and page in notes.
Trace Bountiful Burial Names and Places
Bountiful City Cemetery adds a local name-and-place layer. The official Names in Stone guide uses first name, last name, burial location, and optional birth or death years. The cemetery office is at 2224 S 200 W, Bountiful, with 801-298-6080 and office hours Monday through Friday, 10 to 3. The city warns that online records are incomplete, so an office check is worthwhile when a family name matters.
The cemetery has unusual depth for Bountiful research. The present site was selected in 1854, when there were no street or house numbers. Lots and roadways were laid out and records began around 1880. The LDS Church deeded the cemetery to Bountiful City in 1938. Early residents may therefore be easier to place through family, lot, marker, and burial records than through a presumed street address.
The cemetery search guide uses a name and location route, while the office can check incomplete records. A burial entry can corroborate a death date or family link, but it does not prove a person lived at a current address.
Why ZIP Data Can Mislead Bountiful Searches
Postal geography and city geography do not line up neatly in Bountiful. Davis County's city-by-ZIP page maps Bountiful to 84010. Utah's official ZIP list also assigns 84011 to Bountiful, while a Davis County small-area map groups both in its Bountiful area. Use the ZIP as a search filter, not as proof of municipal limits or a resident's exact city.
The difference matters when a name or address comes from voter, unclaimed-property, property, or postal data. Verify a mailing label through the official Utah ZIP list and the USPS city and state lookup. Then use the parcel's situs address and legal description for land research. Bountiful by Design, adopted December 9, 2025, is a current civic geography source, but it is not a residents directory.
For a full ZIP-by-ZIP treatment, use the dedicated Bountiful ZIP code directory and preserve the distinction between postal, analytic, and municipal geography.
When the Bountiful Online Index Stops
Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, or GRAMA, is the fallback for a public record held by a named custodian. A written request should identify the requester, describe the record, name the agency, and give dates, names, parcel numbers, and locations. The statewide Open Records Portal is available through Utah Archives. Davis County routes county requests through the Clerk, and Bountiful City uses its own records-request form.
GRAMA inspection has no fee. Copies, staff time, and media can cost the actual amount allowed under Utah Code §63G-2-203. The ordinary response target is no more than 10 business days, or no more than 5 for a qualifying expedited request. A denial can be appealed to the chief administrative officer within 30 days, with mediation through the Government Records Ombudsman.

The Davis County request capture points to the county channel. Ask the custodian for electronic copies where available, and set a cost threshold before research begins.
Bountiful's municipal form offers inspection, copy, certified-copy, and electronic-copy choices. It lists $0.10 per page for copies, $2 for certification, no charge for the first 1 to 15 minutes of research, and an hourly charge after that. The form also asks for an address, phone, email, date range, department, cost authorization, restricted-access basis, and expedited-request choice. A request cannot override a sealed, protected, or otherwise restricted record.
Separate Bountiful Record Terms
Record words carry different meanings in a Bountiful search. Keeping the terms straight prevents an address clue from being overstated.
- Roll
- A list kept for a defined purpose, such as registered voters or assessed property. It is not a complete list of residents.
- Index
- A finding aid for a larger record. An index entry may point to a deed or image without showing every page.
- Parcel
- A mapped unit of land with a county identifier, ownership context, and legal description.
- Criss-cross directory
- An older reverse directory arranged by address or street so an occupant can be found from a place.
The same name may occur in several sources. Save the record date, address type, party role, parcel, book and page, case number, or collection year that makes the match distinct.
Compare Official and Commercial Results
Commercial assembled results may offer a starting name or old address, but they do not replace the record custodian. Official sources are narrower and often take more work. The choice depends on whether the goal is a current property clue, a dated public entry, or family history.
| Route | Strength | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| County or state source | Named custodian, stated fields, source rules, and a path to correction or certified copies | Coverage is narrow; access may require a fee, account, request, or proof |
| Commercial assembled result | May surface a starting name or old address in one view | Source date, scope, and accuracy can be unclear; it is not official proof |
| Library or Archives | Historical context, scans, finding aids, and local help | Year runs and access can require staff confirmation or an onsite visit |
For Bountiful, an official source is especially important when the result could affect a family history, property question, or personal safety decision. Verify with Davis County, Bountiful City, Utah Courts, OVRS, Archives, or another named custodian.
Current Bountiful Resident Directories
Current Bountiful resident directories are best treated as a set of focused records. The property roll answers who is tied to land. Voter search can confirm a registered voter. Courts, custody rosters, professional licenses, and business records answer still narrower questions. None should be stretched into a complete list of people living in the city.
| Record source | Useful match | Custodian | Access note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Davis Property Search | Owners and parcel context | Assessor / GIS | Public map |
| Utah Voter Search | Registered voters | Utah voter system | Individual form, protections apply |
| Recorder index | Deed and lien parties | Davis Recorder | Counter or REDI-Web |
| Davis jail roster | Current bookings within roster scope | Davis Sheriff | Public current roster |
| DOPL license search | Named Utah licensees | Utah DOPL | Free online search |
The Bountiful resident lookup page is the better route when one name must be checked across several record types. Property, voter, court, and historical results should be retained with their source date rather than merged into one unsupported profile.
Bountiful's 2026 Voter Privacy Transition
Utah voter access is changing. Research notes report a May 25, 2026 transition under which more than 300,000 letters were sent and many records that had been private or withheld may receive different public treatment. The live Utah voter privacy information and data-request pages should be checked before relying on a field. Full name, voter ID, residence or mailing address, precinct or district, party, status, last update, and elections voted may be public under the newer treatment, while protected categories still matter.
This timely change is a reason to record the date of a voter search. Do not assume today's result, missing field, or bulk-file rule will remain the same. The state still withholds sensitive identifiers such as full date of birth, Social Security number, driver's-license or state-ID number, email, and phone where the current rules say so.

The voter form capture shows the six individual search fields. It is a person-confirmation route, not an unrestricted current resident roll.
Protect a Bountiful Address and Record Trail
Utah Safe at Home gives qualified survivors a substitute address and mail forwarding, while actual address and participation information is shielded under the program. Protected voters and other statutory withholding categories can also limit what appears. A missing result may therefore reflect a safety rule, a closed record, a different custodian, or a search mismatch.
Property Watch is a separate Davis County alert service for qualifying owners or record owners currently taxed. It monitors recorded deeds and mortgages and sends an alert within 30 days. It does not remove a recorded document. For personal safety, verify suspicious mail or calls through the official Recorder, Sheriff, City, or state page instead of using the contact details in an unexpected solicitation.
Keep a Bountiful research note modest. Store the source URL, date, record type, and the smallest amount of personal detail needed for the question. Do not publish sensitive identifiers or assemble a person's daily routine from separate public clues.
Historical Bountiful Resident Directories
Historical Bountiful resident directories are strongest when treated as dated address evidence. Marriott's Utah City Directories collection includes Bountiful and Davis County scans, while Utah Historical Society digital collections and the Bountiful Centennial finding aid add local context. Davis County Library can help locate paper, microfilm, newspaper, yearbook, reverse-directory, and obituary material, but its public page does not verify a continuous local year run.
A directory entry may show a name, occupation, spouse notation, business or home address, an owner or occupancy mark, and a page reference. The exact abbreviations and arrangement vary by volume. Pair a directory year with a census year, deed, obituary, cemetery entry, or probate file. Bountiful incorporated on December 28, 1892, and its growth from the 1896 utility period through the 1918 paved-street era helps explain why old address references may shift over time.
The county's record history also has a preservation story. Davis Records Division digitized 92,799 marriage licenses and 33,000 applications and rehoused paper. Davis marriage Series 6040 begins in 1887, and FamilySearch's Davis collection spans 1869 to 1953. Those preserved books are the bridge when a convenient web directory stops. The full shelf and tracing method appear in the Bountiful city directory collection guide.
The Recorder image used with the deed section already carries the relevant source link and document-key lesson; the historical directory trail should be read with its own edition citation.
